Northwest Youth Corps is a youth development and outdoor education organization that has provided opportunities to more than 14,000 young people since its establishment in 1984.

Spring Conservation Corps:
YouthCorps programs combine outdoor adventure and education with paid residential environmental work experience for ages 14 to 19.

Summer Programs

Summer Conservation Corps is YouthCorps' summer program. Locations in WA, OR, and ID for teens ages 14 to 19.


OutDoor Oregon are local kids working on local projects throughout Oregon for teens ages 15 to 19.


YouthGrow is NYC's Garden Camp that teaches youth the value of veggies and the fun of home farming for youth ages 7 to 11.

Fall Programs

OutDoor School ODS is an alternative high school for the Eugene/Springfield area that combines classroom education with field studies and outdoor resource management work experience.


Fall Conservation Corps is YouthCorps' Fall program. Locations in WA, OR, and ID.


Cycle Oregon is OutDoor Oregon's residential Support crew partnered with Cycle Oregon. Ages 16 to 19.

When: Thursday, January 12th, 2012, 5:00 - 7:30pm

 

Where: Northwest Youth Corps OutDoor School, 2621 Augusta Street, Eugene, Oregon

 

Why: This is an opportunity for you to see the school, meet with OutDoor High School teachers (see all their smiling faces above), and learn about your students' activities and performance inside the classroom and outside during field education.

 
We will offer light snacks and cake to celebrate our OutDoor High School students!  Students who are accompanied by parents / guardians are welcome to attend.

Thursday, November 17th, 5:30 - 7pm

This past summer while nearly 1,000 NYC teens were working hard throughout the Northwest, major changes were taking place at our campus including adding ADA accessible entry, energy efficient upgrades, and major interior renovations. Join us for a Meet and Greet on Nov. 17th and take a tour led by NYC staff, enter to win fun raffle prizes, and more!

Bicycle Movie Night

Saturday, November 19th

Doors open at 7pm, Movie at 8pm

The Greater Oakridge Area Trail Stewards & Disciples of Dirt partner with the Northwest Youth Corps, Ninkasi Brewing and local retailers to bring you "Women of Dirt". Women Of Dirt is a unique look into the world of Downhill Racing, Dirt Jumping and Freeriding. This film looks through the eyes of the wondrous women that have helped grow the sport of Gravity Mountain Biking with their strength and courage.

Play In The Rain Day

Join us at the Mount Pisgah Aboretum for Free Family Fun

November 12th from 10am to 3pm

A great opportunity for those looking for something fun to do with their family on a rainy, or perhaps even sunny Saturday in November. You can visit Mount Pisgah Arboretum for our community's 4rd annual Play in the Rain Day on Saturday, November 12th, from 10 am to 3 pm.

The day's activities will include tree-climbing, horses, nature crafts, hikes, hay rides, campfire cookery, a visit from Smokey Bear, native plants, archery, a bicycle obstacle course, and more! Parking and all activities, including campfire food, are FREE!

Make a Difference Day

Saturday, October 22nd, 9am-12pm

Cemetery Park is in Grave need of a makeover!

Come volunteer and help beautify Cemetery Park with Northwest Youth Corps during our Ghoulish Make a Difference Day. Lend a hand clearing out brush and overgrowth, or help paint picnic tables.

Trick-or-Treats: bagels, coffee and juice will be provided for all volunteers! Cemetery Park is on C Steet in Springfield. From Eugene, take Franklin Blvd over the Willamette River. Turn right on 2nd Street and then left on C Street.

NORTHWEST YOUTH CORPS JOINED FORCES WITH CYCLE OREGON

OUTDOOR OREGON SUPPORT CREW

Northwest Youth Corps has joined forces with Cycle Oregon again this year to provide an exciting opportunity for youth!  40 teens completed this 3 week session that included BOTH conservation work and helping Cycle Oregon during its Week Long Ride!

Join Abby Wellumson, our OutDoor Oregon Program Manager, at the Fiala Farms Benefit - Bridging Communities through Arts & Agriculture.  Learn about the White Oak Savanna restoration, explore this working farm, meet local artists, and enter the raffle to win great prizes!

Northwest Youth Corps and the Great American Backyard Campout!

Saturday, June 25

10am - 3pm

On June 25th thousands of people across the US will be camping out in their backyards or local parks as part of the Great American Backyard Campout. Join REI, the National Wildlife Federation, Northwest Youth Corps, Rewild Eugene, and Friends of Buford Park at Mt Pisgah for presentations, hikes, games, snacks and more!
