Are you out of school, between schools, or thinking about returning to school? Are you interested in cycling and would like to learn more about the outdoor recreational commulnity? Northwest Youth Corps is proud to announce we will join forces agian with Cycle Oregon in 2012 with the OutDoor Oregon Support Team.

OutDoor Oregon Support Team is a hybrid program that will send crews to support Cycle Oregon’s week-long ride across Oregon; as well as work on various conservation projects.  The team will spend a week assisting with the setup and breakdown of Cycle Oregon’s largest tents used for meals and entertainment as well as several hundred personal tents for the riders.   In addition, NYC will continue its traditional focus on conservation education, personal growth and the development of job skills.   The other weeks of OutDoor Support Team will be spent doing traditional conservation work on invasive species removal and seed collection around the state of Oregon.

The challenge and simplicity of spending three weeks outdoors will give you the chance to regain perspective, meet new friends, and discover new opportunities. Also this unique opportunity to support Cycle Oregon’s Week Long 450+ mile ride is an opportunity of a lifetime for qualified youth. Sound appealing?

Living in a tent for three weeks is not easy but the payoff is immense. Sure, you will you receive a paycheck and discover pride in doing work that really matters. But perhaps just as important is what you will learn about yourself; about getting along with others and about what you value.

Take time out from the hustle and bustle of city life. Spend three weeks in the woods and leave with new friends, a paycheck, amazing calluses, and great stories. Click Here to Apply
