YouthCorps

Conservation work -- for the fun of it!
Protecting the Northwest's natural resources is important work -- and it's fun and rewarding when you're part of an NYC crew. Youth explore, camp, play team-building games, learn camp cooking, and make friends. Plus, youth earn a stipend and bragging rights as their crew completes projects. Work projects include restoring critical environmental areas, such as Blowout Trail and Bugaboo Ridge, by controlling invasive plant species and soil erosion. Visit our YouthCorps Programs page for more information.

Snowballs in summer!

Photo: NYC rule #23 -- If you find a snow patch in the middle of summer, be sure to let the rest of your crew know about it!

Support Youth

Thanks!
Thank you to Vanguard Charitable Endowment Program for a recent gift, and to Menasha Forest Products Corporation for their long-term support of our program.

"Thank you for sponsoring people like me, allowing us to have an awesome experience working for NYC. During the first week we removed over four thousand feet of barbed wire fencing through blackberry bushes to improve the environment. I also learned a lot about trees, whales, and knots. I am excited to go home and teach my friends. Thank you again for helping me to have such an amazing experience. I will never forget it."

-- T.N., youth crew member

"I had a blast. This program taught me that I could work super hard, and I never knew that I had it in me. I learned better communication skills, and how to push myself. You gave me a chance to find out who I really am."

-- S.F., youth crew member
