It’s been a great session so far, and all the crews are starting their 5^th week in style… ALL WILL BE DOING TRAIL WORK to finish their session!!! But first, here’s what they’ve been up to…

Week Four:

Blue Crew spent their week pulling the nasty invasive Oregon Blackberry on a country club in Springfield, Oregon, with the McKenzie River Watershed Council.

Yellow Crew spent their week working at the cultural site Soggy Bottoms North Bank Ranch with the Roseburg BLM. They were working on erosion control projects, like placing logs on a riverbank to prevent soil from falling into the river and planting seedlings that will eventually do the same when they grow older.

Red Crew did trailwork on the Santiam Pass are of the Pacific Crest Trail! They began working on a large reroute, did some brushing, and installed drainage on the PCT.

Week Five:

Blue Crew will take up where Red Crew left off working on the PCT, finishing up the reroute and doing other trailwork here.

Yellow Crew will be working with the Medford BLM, rehabbing an old OHV Trail.

Red Crew will also be working with the Medford BLM will be maintaining an OHV Trail.

Weekend Site Information

This is not a parent’s weekend, so the crews can concentrate on team-building activities and spending time with the community as this is their last weekend.

Fall 2’s Graduation will take place at Northwest Youth Corps’ headquarters, located at 2621 Augusta Street in Eugene, on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18^th at 11pm!!!  We hope to see you there!
